Cross that bridge

Added: 26/02/2010

I was disappointed to hear yesterday that Wayne Bridge has decided that he not be joining England at the World Cup in the summer following the John Terry revelations. In my opinion we have the best chance of winning it for a very long time and with Wayne Rooney firing in the goals I will be going into it very optimistically.

Of course, I am sure I will be brought down to earth with a sharp bump as England have a tendency to raise hopes only to then fail to deliver in spectacular fashion.

I am surprised that Wayne Bridge did not give it a little more time before making his decision, I can imagine that the situation is very raw but in months to come I am sure he will be feeling better about the situation. Playing for England is everyone’s dream but imagine going to the World Cup and missing out on being part of a historical Wold Cup winning team?

I am sure that the regret of that would live with Wayne Bridge for the rest of his life, far longer than the debacle involving his ex wife and Mr Terry!
