Do I need an employment contract?

Added: 17/05/2011

We receive many queries from contractors who get confused over their employment status? Contractors that choose to work through an umbrella company are employed by them and must be treated as one.

For example, every contractor working through Tarpon receives their very own employment contract and is classed as an employee. Tarpon's employees receive many employee benefits such as access to an expenses dispensation, professional insurances and salary sacrifice schemes to include childcare.

As with any other employer, Tarpon also pay holiday pay when holidays are actually taken and offer statutory sick pay, maternity pay, etc when the need arises.

It's safe to say that contractors working through Tarpon enjoy the financial benefits of contracting along with the security of being employed.
