As a Business Manager I spend the majority of my time on the phone to my contractors updating them, chasing timesheets and generally ensuring that their payroll is as smooth and hassle free as possible.

I also get to speak to all of them on a weekly basis and some of them have been with us for a number of years so we have built up some great relationships. I get to hear about people’s holidays, moans about their football teams and stories of their children growing up. I reckon it won’t be long before some of my contractors will be asking me to babysit their children for them.

It’s all part of the service but it’s much more than that and makes my job very enjoyable. One of my contractors finished his role recently and sent the following comments to my Manage.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thanks Alex for his excellent service and for demonstrating that is possible to become friends whilst doing business, that’s what it is all about!”

I couldn’t have put it better myself!
