An estimated 17.5 million sight tests were performed in Great Britain in the year to 31 March 2006. This is an increase of 1.6 per cent (around 275,000 tests) on the volume estimated from the previous survey (for the year to 31 March 2004) and an increase of 19.7 per cent (nearly 3 million tests) on the volume estimated for 1996/97.
This can become expensive as we are encouraged to have our sight tested once a year, if you have diabetes, glaucoma, or other medical and eye conditions, you may need more regular checks.
